Bryan Jacobs
Operations Manager
Dallas, TX

When Bryan Jacobs, went out for lunch the other day, he had no idea he’d come back an action hero. But when an SUV suddenly veered in front of him and struck the median, rearing on end, Jacobs reacted instinctively. Amazingly, the Blazer righted itself and continued scraping along the median barrier. Jacobs could see the driver was slumped over in her seat, so he brought his pick-up in front of the vehicle and actually used it to slow and eventually stop the woman’s truck.

“We came to a stop, and she still had her foot on the gas,” Jacobs said. “Her back tires were spinning. Two truckers pulled over and got traffic stopped behind us. Another guy broke out the car window and got the keys out of the ignition.”

Denton, TX police honored Jacobs for taking control of a bad situation. Chief Roy Minter handed him a citizen commendation, saying that at the very least he prevented more accidents from occurring and possibly saved lives.

The 25-year old victim’s husband credits Jacobs for saving his wife’s life, as subsequent testing revealed a massive brain tumor that had caused her to have a seizure while driving. She has since had surgery and is expected to make a full recovery.

"It's unbelievable. I thank the Lord for putting him there at that time at that place that he had the instincts to act as he did," he said.

Jacobs credits his watching action movies and TV that led him to do what he did. Others might say it was pure character. Either way, we’re proud to have Bryan Jacobs on our team!
