Johannes Louwers, Account Manager
Minneapolis, MN

Not only is Brickman Plant Friendly and Planet Friendly, but our staff is also wildlife friendly.

Account Manager, Johannes Louwers, received a call from a customer recently with a rather unique problem. It seems that several ducklings were trapped in a storm drain outside of a store at a large retail complex we maintain.

An 8-year veteran who started out working in the field, Johannes went out to the site and, with the help of colleague Tom Badon, rigged up a “med-evac” from a box fitted with strings. Climbing into the storm drain, he loaded the baby ducks into the box one by one, and his team mate hauled them up and hand delivered the stranded ducklings to their frantic and grateful mother.

As traumatic as the rescue operation was for mamma and babies, what was more traumatic for Johannes was spotting some newly sprouted weeds in the cracks of the parking lot, which he promptly removed!

All in a day’s work for our Minnesota team.
